The lady at the art show who pointed out my brush strokes were all the same direction
I was at a local gallery opening in Denver last month showing a digital painting I'd spent 40 hours on, and this older woman just walked up and said "you always stroke from left to right, don't you?" She was right, every single brush stroke was identical and my whole piece looked flat because of it. Has anyone else had a stranger point out something obvious you missed in your own work?

Man that stings but yeah she did you a favor. Next time try loading your brush with different amounts of paint and vary your wrist angle - forces you to break the habit.

Wait she actually called out the brush loading and wrist angle thing? That's a whole other level of critique I wasn't ready for.
