Rant: my tablet screen died mid commission and I lost 6 hours of shading work
I was almost done with a 3 character commission, 11 layers of shading on the dragon alone, and my tablet screen just went black. No warning, no flicker, just gone. I tried every cable in my drawer, 2 different ports, and even dug out the old driver CD before I gave up. The file itself was fine but the backup only saved 4 hours in, so I lost about 6 hours of detail work on the wings and scales. I ended up finishing it on my phone with my finger which looked like a toddler drew it. Now I'm paranoid and hitting Ctrl+S every 2 minutes like a nervous twitch. Anyone got a cheap second monitor setup for backup or do I just suffer?

Wait, the file itself was fine? So the screen dying didn't actually lose your work, the backup just being old is what got you. Not saying that makes it less painful but yeah the fix is prob auto-save not a second monitor. Most drawing apps let you set it to save every few mins so you don't have to keep twitching on ctrl+s.
