My tablet pen just died mid-sketch. Lost a whole piece.

Was working on a commission piece last night. Three hours in. Pen just stopped. No warning. Battery was fine but the tip sensor went out. Had to switch to my old backup pen. Pressure sensitivity feels totally different now. Anyone else have a backup tool that just messes up your flow?

Wait, you actually LIKE it when your tablet pen stops working in the middle of a piece? That's wild to me. I get so frustrated when my flow gets broken like that, I can't imagine seeing it as a good thing.

I mean, I get that switching tools can throw off your flow, but I actually kind of like the challenge of adapting to a different setup. You have to relearn your strokes and it can push you to experiment with new techniques you wouldn't normally try. Maybe it's just me, but sometimes that forced change ends up making my art feel fresher in the end.
