Finally saw the light on layer masks after 5 years of erasing
Used to spend hours erasing backgrounds pixel by pixel. Tried a layer mask for a portrait last week and finished the whole project in 20 minutes. Anyone else take forever to try something that obvious?

Finished the whole project in 20 minutes" - wow, that's wild. I've been doing the pixel-by-pixel eraser dance for way too long myself (like, almost a decade honestly). I literally bought a fancy pen tablet thinking it would speed things up but nope, still sucked. Layer masks feel like cheating once you finally get them, but it's the good kind of cheating. Congrats on joining the club, you're gonna save so much time now it's kinda ridiculous.

The eraser tool is fine, but you don't need a pen tablet for layer masks they work with a mouse.
