Chat with a comic artist at the con flipped my view on color palettes
I was at Fan Expo in Dallas last month and this artist named Jen showed me how she limits her palette to just 4 colors per piece. She said 'too many choices just make mud' and that really hit me because I've been using like 20 layers of color and wondering why my stuff looks flat. Anyone else tried sticking to a strict palette limit?

Four colors, no sweat - total game changer for my messy layers.

Okay so I actually saw this makeup artist on YouTube talking about how using four colors instead of like three or five totally changes how your layers blend together. She said it's all about having enough variation without going overboard and making everything look muddy. For messy layers specifically I bet it helps create that soft imperfect texture without it turning into a total disaster. I tried something similar with my own color palette and it really did make a difference in how natural my highlights looked. Did you find you had to adjust your application technique at all or did it just click right away?
