Can we talk about how flat some art looks in online showcases

Last week I was scrolling through a digital art showcase on a forum and maybe 8 out of 10 pieces had zero depth or shading. It's like everyone is copying the same flat vector style because it's faster to make. Does anyone else miss seeing more texture and lighting in these galleries?

That's a solid point actually. I was looking at a digital art showcase on DeviantArt last week and counted like 7 out of 10 pieces that looked like vector cutouts with no shadows. It's wild how everyone seems to be chasing that flat, minimal look because it's easier to crank out fast. Real texture and lighting takes time but it makes the art pop so much more imo. Not everything needs heavy rendering, but some depth would be nice to see again.

That "chasing that flat, minimal look because it's easier" line actually got me rethinking my own favorites.
