A gallery owner's comment about my watermark changed my whole approach

Last week at a small show in Portland, the owner pulled me aside and said my signature was louder than the artwork itself, which stung but got me thinking. She told me she skipped over three of my pieces because the watermark broke the mood of the scene, and honestly I never considered how much it hurt the viewing experience. Has anyone else had a critique like that make them revisit how they present their digital pieces in a public setting?

A watermark that small and subtle really breaks the whole mood? Sounds like she was reaching for something to critique. Plenty of artists sign their work right in the scene and nobody walks past it. Maybe just shrink it down a bit and move on.
