Showerthought: the bus shelter on 5th got moved 30 feet last month and suddenly 9 people use it
This is going to sound small but stick with me. Last month the city picked up the bus shelter on 5th and dropped it about 30 feet closer to the corner, right by the crosswalk light. Before the move I used to stand there in the rain watching maybe 2 other people wait with me. Last Tuesday I counted 9 of us under that roof at 7:40am, and one guy said he never even knew a stop was there until they moved the shelter into view. It got me thinking about how much of transit design is just about where people can see things, not the schedule or the route. The 8:05 still comes late half the time but nobody seems to mind as much now. Anyone else notice a tiny design change like that make a stop feel completely different?
