TIL my backup routine had a giant blind spot after a friend's question
I kept bragging to my buddy about my nightly cloud syncs and 2 external drives. He asked me, "What happens if your house floods or burns down?" and I had no answer. That made me realize all my backups were in the same physical room, so I started a weekly offsite backup to a safety deposit box plus a locked zip file in my car. It took about 30 minutes a week and honestly feels like overkill sometimes. Anyone else have a weak spot in their backup plan they only caught after someone pointed it out?
