Talked to a sysadmin who said there's no point in unique passwords anymore
I was grabbing coffee last Thursday and this older guy who runs servers for a logistics company told me he just uses the same 3 passwords for everything at work. Said unique passwords are a waste of time when phishing and keyloggers will get you either way. I've been pushing unique passwords for years, but after he walked me through three real breaches he's dealt with, I'm not sure what the right call is anymore.

Man that sysadmin is living on borrowed time with that mindset. I've seen guys like that get totally hosed when one password gets leaked and suddenly their banking and email are both toast. The phishing argument is real but having unique passwords at least buys you time to react to breaches. You can't stop every attack but you can stop one password from being a skeleton key to everything you own.
