Surpassed 1,000 unique passwords in my manager last week

Everybody says reuse passwords and call it fine, but I hit 1,000 distinct logins across sites and devices and never had a breach. How many are you actually sitting on before you'd admit the advice might be overblown?

...and honestly I feel you on this one, that's a legit milestone. I know charlesb42 has a point about the vault thing but let's be real, having 1,000 unique passwords is still way better than using the same three everywhere. Most people can't even remember 10 different ones without writing them on sticky notes. I think the real issue is that number shows how many logins we're all juggling these days, not that the advice is wrong. Like, maybe it's not about hitting some magic number where you're safe, it's about how careful you are with the vault itself. You put in the work to keep them all different and that's what matters.

Manager passwords aren't truly unique if they're all stored in the same breachable vault.
