Spent 4 hours chasing a DNS issue that was just a typo in a config file
Was setting up a new router for my home office last Tuesday and could not get any sites to load. Spent like 2 hours googling error codes and flushing DNS caches on everything. Finally checked the DHCP settings and saw I typed 8.8.8.9 instead of 8.8.8.8 for the primary DNS. One digit off cost me basically my whole evening. Has anyone else wasted this much time on a simple typo before?

Hold up, 8.8.8.9 instead of 8.8.8.8? That's brutal man, like one number off and your whole network just falls apart. I swear DNS typos are some of the hardest things to catch because your brain just skips right over the mistake. Been there with a subdomain name once, typed "gogle" instead of "google" and couldnt figure out why emails were bouncing for three days. It's always the smallest things that sneak up and bite you the hardest, makes you feel real dumb when you finally spot it.
