Shoutout to the guy who taught me about password managers at a coffee shop in Austin

Last month I was at this little coffee place on 6th Street and the barista overheard me complaining about forgetting my bank login AGAIN. He sat down and showed me how to set up Bitwarden right there on my phone, took like 10 minutes tops. It's been 3 weeks now and I haven't reset a single password. Has anyone else had a total stranger just fix their tech life like that?

Two weeks ago a guy at the auto parts store walked me through setting up two-factor on my email while I was waiting for my order. Made me realize how many times I've just typed "password123" and hoped for the best. My digital life is basically run by generous strangers at this point.

Right? So the guy at the auto parts store knows more about keeping my email safe than I do after years of just hoping nobody bothered to guess my passwords. It's like the universe knew I needed a security lecture but I was too cheap to pay for one. My whole online security system is basically held together by the kindness of strangers who happen to be nearby when I'm being reckless. Honestly, at this point I'm half expecting the barista at my coffee shop to walk me through changing my banking password while they're steaming my latte.
