Picked a free password manager over a paid one and almost lost everything
I was deciding between Bitwarden free and the paid version last month. Tbh I went with the free option because I figured what's the difference, but it didn't have the emergency access feature. My neighbor's daughter pointed out that if my phone breaks and I'm locked out, nobody can get into my accounts to help me. Has anyone else had to make that call between free and paid and regretted it?

I just use a physical backup sheet hidden at my mom's place and it's saved me twice already.

Man that's rough but honestly the free tier is pretty solid for most people. My buddy went with KeePass a few years back and it's free too, but he had to figure out the cloud sync thing himself and ended up with three different copies of his vault that didn't match up. Took him two days to sort out which one had his streaming passwords and which one had his bank info. I use the free Bitwarden and just wrote down my master password on a piece of paper in my safe, like a caveman, but at least my sister can find it if I get hit by a bus.
