My smart home renovation made me start using separate networks for devices
I used to put all my smart gadgets on the same Wi-Fi network as my computers. It just felt simpler to manage everything together. While adding new smart bulbs during a room update, one got compromised and started sending strange data. This slowed my entire internet and made me worry about my private files. After that, I split my devices onto a guest network away from my main stuff. It was easy to set up and now I feel much safer. This one step really improved my home security.

Wait, your smart bulb got hacked and started sending data? That's actually so creepy. I never really thought about a lightbulb being a security risk like that. It makes your whole house feel kinda exposed.

When your smart bulb got hacked, how did you first notice the strange data it was sending? Most people wouldn't catch that until their internet got slow, so your detection method is interesting. I should check my own devices for weird activity... before something similar happens here.
