My brother in law guessed my laptop password in 4 tries and I've been paranoid ever since
So my sister and her husband stayed at our place in Sacramento over Memorial Day weekend, and he needed to check his email while his phone was charging. I handed him my laptop and he just started typing. Got in on the 4th guess. It was our dog's name plus my birth year. He laughed and said most people do that because it's easy to remember. I laughed too but inside I was freaking out. That night I stayed up until almost 2am going through every account I own and changing stuff. Turns out 3 of my passwords were just small tweaks of that same one, so changing one did almost nothing. I set up a password manager and two factor on everything now, which took like 3 hours total but worth it. The part that bugs me most is he wasn't even trying to break in. If he could do it in 4 tries just messing around, what could someone actually trying do? Curious what you all use for password managers, I went with Bitwarden but wondering if I should've picked something else.
