Just read that most people reuse the same password across 14 different sites
I saw this stat in a report from the National Cyber Security Centre last month. It means if one site gets hacked, attackers can try that same login on 13 other places you might have an account. I checked my own password manager and I was doing it too, just with a few variations. That's a huge risk for something like your email or bank account. Has anyone found a good way to break this habit without getting totally locked out?

I had 27 logins with basically the same core password before I switched to a manager. The idea of making a truly unique one for every single site just isn't realistic for most people. I got locked out of my own email for two days once trying to be perfect about it. A strong base password with smart variations feels like the only sane middle ground.

Honestly that whole "unique password" thing is overblown. Most sites have decent security now. Using a strong base password with small changes is way easier to remember and probably fine. Getting locked out of your own accounts is a bigger hassle than some tiny risk.
