I finally talked my neighbor into using a password manager
Last month at the block party on Elm Street, my neighbor Dave told me he uses the same password for everything - his email, his banking, even his Netflix. He said he couldn't remember different ones and didn't trust those password apps. I showed him how Bitwarden works on my phone right there on my porch, and he signed up that night. Has anyone else had luck convincing someone older to make the switch?
parker543 I gotta push back on that "nothing's happened to me" thing. That's like saying you don't need a seatbelt because you've never crashed. I used to think the same way until my credit card got hit for $400 in fake Uber rides because someone guessed my banking password from a data breach on some random forum. It only takes one time. Dave's lucky he listened before something like that happened to him.
Hold up, is it really that big of a deal? I mean yeah, same password everywhere isn't great, but I've been doing it for years and nothing's happened to me. Your mileage may vary though.
