I finally stopped reusing passwords after the casino breach
For years I ran my whole life on like 3 passwords, figured nobody would bother with my accounts anyway. Then last March my player card at the River Valley Casino got compromised and someone drained $212 from my linked wallet through a data breach I didn't even know happened. Now I use a password manager with a different 16-character string for everything, but the thought of migrating all my old logins still feels like a huge chore... anyone else put off the switch for way too long?
Read a whole piece on how the "passwords are annoying" excuse basically hands crooks an easy win, and it stuck with me because that was me for years. Moving everything over took one boring weekend, but I did it in chunks while watching TV instead of all at once. Just start with your email and bank logins first, since those two unlock the most damage if they get hit.
