Honestly, my buddy's constant password reuse has me baffled by basic security rules.
Tbh, I think the advice to change passwords every few months is just causing more weak passwords. Ngl, we should push for password managers and unique phrases instead. It's simpler and actually works.

But aren't those unique phrases still a pain to remember across sites... which just leads back to writing them down? Feels like the real hurdle is getting people to use any tool at all. Your buddy probably just sees the whole thing as one big hassle.

My dad always wrote his passwords on sticky notes until his email got hacked. I used to think password tools were just another thing to deal with, idk. But setting up a manager took like ten minutes, and now I only have to remember one strong phrase. I mean, it auto fills everything so I don't have to type or write anything down. Maybe it's just me but that feels way less hassle than worrying about all those different logins.
