Booked a 7 day Alaska cruise 3 years ago and the dining room seating is what I still think about
Sailed out of Seattle in June 2021 on a mid size ship, about 2,000 people. The food was fine. What got me was the assigned seating. We got put at a table for 8 with the same people every night at 6pm. By day 3 I wanted to eat at the buffet just to get away from one guy's politics. My wife said stick it out. Day 5 he ordered three desserts and told the waiter it was for the table. Never again. Last month I booked another one and asked for anytime dining and the rep acted like I was being difficult. Is fixed seating actually the norm still or did I just get a lazy booking agent?
