Warning: The porch light trick that exposed my neighbor's nightly habit
After three months of mysterious scratching sounds at 2 AM, I finally tried setting my porch light to blink on and off at random intervals using a $15 timer. My neighbor across the street got spooked and stopped his midnight walks to my fence, where he was apparently leaving notes under a loose board. I only found them because I checked after the third night of silence, and there were seven crumpled messages about my cat. The timer trick works, but it took two weeks and a call to the police to fully resolve it. Has anyone else used a simple lighting change to catch a neighbor's odd behavior, or am I the only one who went this route?

Wait, what were in those notes about your cat? Were they threatening or just weird observations? Because that changes the whole story for me, if someone was that obsessed with my pet at 2 AM I would have lost it way before the timer trick. Also, how did the police handle it once you showed them the notes, did they actually do anything or just tell your neighbor to knock it off? I'm just trying to figure out if the blinking light was what really stopped him or if it was the cops showing up that did the job.
