Took me 3 weeks to realize my neighbor's rooster was a recording

Honestly, at 5am every day I heard this rooster crowing from next door. I complained to my landlord twice, filed a noise report with the city, even left a passive aggressive note. Then one morning I saw the old guy on his porch playing it from his phone speaker. He said his real rooster died in June and he missed the sound. I was so mad but also kinda felt bad for him. Has anyone else had a neighbor fake something weird to keep a routine alive?
