The old lady next door keeps leaving dolls on my porch at midnight...

I've lived in this rental house on Maple Street for about 2 years now, and my neighbor Mrs. Gable has always been a little off. She's like 80 and keeps to herself mostly. But last month I started finding these old porcelain dolls just sitting on my front porch around midnight. I work night shifts at the grocery store so I get home at 11:45pm. First time I thought someone dropped it by accident. Second time I got weirded out. Third time I actually set up my phone to record the porch. Caught her shuffling over at 12:03am, placing the doll gently down, and then staring at my door for like 2 full minutes before going back inside. Never said a word. I don't know if she thinks I'm someone else or if it's some kind of warning. I counted 6 dolls so far. Has anyone else had a neighbor leave stuff on their porch in the middle of the night?

Oh man, that brought back memories of when Mrs. Peterson across the street used to leave bags of old clothes on our porch at like 2am. I was so creeped out at first. Turns out she had dementia and thought I was her daughter who lived there 20 years ago. What worked for me was writing a nice note and leaving it on her door with my phone number. Her son called me the next day and explained everything. Maybe try that, your neighbor might just be confused and think she's bringing gifts to someone she misses.
