The old guy across the street who waters his lawn at 3 AM every Tuesday
My neighbor Carl is a retired dude who lives alone in a yellow house on Maple Street. Every single Tuesday at exactly 3 AM, I hear his sprinkler system kick on and see him standing in his front yard in a bathrobe holding the hose. I asked him about it once when I got home late from a shift and he just said the water pressure is better at night. But here's the thing, he doesn't even have grass. His whole yard is just rocks and a few cactus plants he got from a nursery in Phoenix. I told my buddy Jake about it and he laughed so hard he nearly choked on his beer. Has anyone else had a neighbor with some weirdly specific routine that makes zero sense?

Wait, what if he's not watering plants but testing for something weird underground?

That "testing for something weird underground" part really got me thinking. What if he found old pipes or some kind of buried waste that he doesn't want anyone to know about? People do weird stuff at night when they think no one is watching. Could be he's checking for a leak or something that might get him in trouble with the city. Either way, watering plants in the dark doesn't make sense unless he's hiding what he's really up to.
