The neighbor's cat kept showing up at my door at 3 AM. Then I noticed the pattern.
For about two weeks straight, my neighbor Frank's cat would scratch at my screen door every night at 3 AM. I thought it was just being weird. Then I realized it only happened on nights when Frank's basement light was off, which meant he wasn't home. Learned that cat was basically alerting me to check if Frank was okay. Has anyone else had a neighbor's pet act like a warning system?

That cat knew what it was doing... animals are way more aware than we give them credit for. I had a neighbor's dog once that would only bark at my fence when there was a mountain lion within half a mile. Turns out the dog could smell them before anyone else noticed. Real rural area, so that warning saved my goats more than once. Makes you wonder what else they're trying to tell us that we just ignore.

Basement light" reminds me, my own cat once tried to warn me about a gas leak but I just thought she wanted treats.
