Picked the creepy note over the front porch visit, now I'm stuck with a lit candle every dusk

My 74 year old neighbor left a typed warning about my new floodlights, so I chose to ignore her and keep the lights on, but after finding a small jar of honey on my doorstep with no note, I'm pretty sure I should've just knocked on her door first, has anyone else gambled on ignoring a warning and regretted it?
