Why does everyone write prompts with zero stakes?

I swear half the prompts on here are just 'a door opens' with no conflict or reason to care. Last Tuesday I saw one that was literally 'you find a key' and the comments were all asking 'and then what?' A good prompt needs a choice or a cost, like 'you find a key, but it fits nothing in your house, and your landlord wants it back by noon.' Has anyone else noticed the flat-prompt epidemic, or am I just too picky from reading 300 submissions in the past month?
