That stat about only 10% of writers actually finishing a first draft made me scrap my idea of starting 3 new projects
I read it on a blog from some editor last week and it hit me that I'm just collecting half-baked concepts instead of pushing one through to the end, anyone else keep jumping to new ideas before finishing one?

Oh man, "collecting half-baked concepts" is literally me. I've got like 15 different story outlines on my phone notes app and not one of them is past the first three chapters lol. Last month I started a fantasy novel, then got excited about a mystery plot, then abandoned both for a romance idea that I dropped after two pages. It's like my brain gets a dopamine hit from starting something new and then just moves on.

Honest question though, is this really a problem or are you just being hard on yourself? I mean, half those ideas probably weren't gonna work anyway (and that's fine). Starting new projects is fun, it's not like you're wasting money or hurting anyone. Sometimes the real value is just figuring out what you DON'T want to write about, you know?
