Showerthought: I used to roll my eyes at those 'write 500 words a day' prompts

Finally gave it a shot for 6 weeks straight, and now I've got 21,000 words of a novel that actually doesn't suck. Has anyone else found a simple daily word count trick that just works for them?

21k in 6 weeks is around 500 a day, not 500 words a day.

@kaiharris I get your math but I think you're missing the point. Hitting 500 clean publishable words a day is a lot harder than just typing 500 words.
