Paid $40 for a plot twist generator and got generic garbage

I spent last month on this writing prompt tool that promised to make unique twists for my fantasy novel. All it did was reword basic ideas like the hero was the villain the whole time, stuff I could get free from a forum thread. I lost about 6 hours feeding it my plot details and tweaking settings, and the output still felt flat and copy pasted. The worst part is it actually made my story worse by forcing in twists that did not fit the characters. I should have just asked this community for ideas instead of spending cash on a gimmick. Has anyone else tried one of these paid prompt generators and regretted it, or am I the only one who fell for the ads?

Did you try adjusting the prompt examples yourself, or just expect magic from the tool?
