My old writing process was all paper notebooks and sticky notes
I used to plot out every short story on index cards spread across my coffee table, but now I just type straight into a blank document on my laptop... started doing that around 2020 when I ran out of index cards during a lockdown. Does anyone else miss the physical act of shuffling scenes around by hand?

Honestly I gotta push back on the "missing the physical act" thing. Index cards and sticky notes are a huge pain to deal with once you have more than like 20 of them. They slide around, fall on the floor, get coffee stains, and you can't ctrl+z if you accidentally bump the table. Digital is way cleaner and faster for shuffling scenes around, plus you can save different versions without having to rewrite everything by hand. I switched to digital years before 2020 and never looked back.

Take it from someone who's dropped a whole stack of index cards in a puddle, digital saved me way too many headaches. @abby698 you're right about that, I'd rather fight with a buggy app than try to organize 50 sticky notes on a windy day. No ctrl+z in real life, and that's a dealbreaker for me.
