I chose the slow prompt over the flashy one and got better feedback

Last month my group voted between two prompts. One was this epic space opera setup with warring factions and a dying star. The other was just two strangers sharing a bench at a bus stop in Tulsa during a rain delay. I picked the bench. Everyone thought I was being difficult. But the stories that came out of that simple setup had actual tension and quiet moments. The space opera prompt got three generic hero journeys. Has anyone else had better luck with quieter prompts over big stakes ones?
