Wasted $400 on a load cell that was DOA - check your supplier
Bought a load cell from a newer supplier online last month for a big lift job. Got it in the mail, set it up, and it read 0 the whole time no matter what I put on it. Turns out they shipped a dead unit and their return policy is basically a joke. Has anyone else had trouble with smaller suppliers cutting corners on calibration stuff?

Back in 2021 I ordered a 5000 lb s type load cell from a company I'd never heard of. It showed up in a plastic bag with no foam wrapping at all. The strain gauge was already cracked when I opened it. I called them up and they said I had to pay to ship it back and then they'd decide if they'd refund me. That was the last time I went with a random name online. Did you check if the dead unit had any visible damage on the circuit board?

One bad shipping experience and you swore off all unknown companies forever?
