Wasted $300 on a rigging course that taught me nothing new
Signed up for this weekend class about load calculations and hand signals. Figured it'd be good to brush up. Guy running it spent the first two hours talking about his fishing trips. Then he handed out a photocopied sheet from the 90s. I learned more from a YouTube video last Tuesday. Anyone else get burned by a training that was just a cash grab?

Honestly, that sounds like a total waste of time and money. Real hands-on experience beats a dude rambling about fishing any day of the week. If they can't teach you something new in a course, it's just a tax on people wanting to stay sharp.

Ngl @mila395 you're making a solid point but I gotta say the real value isn't always about learning something brand new. Sometimes it's about validating what you already know or picking up one tiny trick you missed. If I get even one decent tip from a course it was worth the time ya know?
