That $80 anti-two-block sensor saved my boom from a 40 foot drop
Bought a cheap knockoff sensor off eBay for my Grove last month, worked fine for a week then gave false readings on a high rise job in Austin. Had to hand-rig a bypass just to finish the lift, cost me a full afternoon and almost a load of precast panels. Anyone else tried the budget sensors and ended up going back to OEM parts?

The "worked fine for a week" part is exactly what got me too. Mine lasted about ten days before it started screaming false alarms every time the temperature hit 90. I learned the hard way that those knockoffs save you maybe 40 bucks up front but cost you a whole day on site when they crap out. My rule now is that anything safety related on the boom gets OEM, no exceptions. Cheap parts are fine for lights or mirrors, but not for the stuff that keeps the load off the ground.
