PSA: Stop setting up your own rigging without double checking the sling angles
I saw two guys on a site last week almost drop a 12 ton HVAC unit because they ran chokers at a 45 degree angle instead of 60. The load capacity drops way faster than people think when you go shallow. I keep a chart taped inside my cab for quick reference, and I still catch myself guessing wrong sometimes. If you are running a 30 degree angle on a 10 ton load, you are actually putting 20 tons of force on those slings. Has anyone else had a close call from someone not checking the math on the tagline?

Double check your math there a bit. A 30 degree sling angle actually gives you a load factor of 2.0, so a 10 ton load puts 20 tons of force on the slings like you said, but that's per leg if you're using two legs, not total across both. The capacity drop is still serious, just wanted to clarify how it splits so nobody misreads their chart.
