Overheard a safety guy say something about lube that stuck with me

I was grabbing coffee near the job site and this old safety inspector guy was talking to a younger operator. He said something like 'grease is cheap, steel is expensive.' Made me think about how often I rush through pin greasing on my crawler. I had a boom pin seize up on me about 2 years ago on a job in Tacoma, cost me a full Saturday to fix. Any of you guys have a specific routine for making sure you don't miss those high pivot points?
