My 80 ton Grove felt sluggish for months until I checked the hydraulic filters

I kept thinking something was wrong with the swing brake or the engine. Turns out the filters were clogged up with junk. I swapped them out last Tuesday and the machine felt brand new. Anyone else ever chase a problem for weeks only to find it was something simple and cheap to fix?

80 tons sluggish" sounds like me after Thanksgiving dinner.

Did you ever just assume a big problem needed a big fix? I used to think if a machine was acting up, it had to be something major like a pump or motor going out. But after replacing a few simple filters on different equipment and seeing night and day results, I changed my mind. Now I always check the cheap stuff first before I start chasing ghosts. It's crazy how much junk can build up and mess with performance. You save yourself a TON of headaches and money that way.
