Just realized my pick charts were costing me more than they helped
I've been hauling around this binder of load charts for different attachments for like 8 years now, and last Tuesday on a job in Tacoma I pulled out the wrong page for a 120 ton rig and nearly rigged a 14k lift way over the safe zone. Turns out the charts were from three models ago, and my foreman caught it right as I was hooking up. That $80 binder and all the time I spent updating it while others use their tablets, I never once double checked the revision date. I tossed it in the dumpster after that and now I just take a photo of the cab chart with my phone and zoom in. Anyone else still keeping paper charts around just out of habit, or did you make the switch to digital years ago?
