Debate: Dropped $600 on a load cell for my crane, best move or total rip?

I run a small outfit in Omaha and last month I paid $600 for a wireless load cell system to check pick weights before lifts. Some guys say it saves their back and prevents overloads, but mine gave false readings twice on a job last week, nearly dropped a steel beam. Is this thing a real safety tool or just another overpriced gadget that's gonna get left in the box? Curious who else has had good or bad luck with load cells on site.

Yeah @faith_torres83 is right, a false reading like that is basically a ticking time bomb. Sounds like you got a dud unit, not a bad idea overall but definitely not worth your neck.

Sorry you got burned, that false reading could have killed someone.
