Can we talk about how I was ignoring weeds in Stardew for like two seasons

I was three seasons into my first Stardew save and kept skipping the fiber and mixed seeds because I thought they were junk, then my buddy watched me play and pointed out I could have crafted scarecrows and grass starters way earlier with all that stuff I was tossing. Turns out I had wasted a ton of gold buying supplies I could have made myself from stuff growing right next to my crops. Did anyone else sleep on fiber for way too long before it clicked?
