Why does nobody talk about how the moon landing footage changed between 1969 and 1979?
I was at my uncle's house last week digging through old boxes, and he had a VHS tape of the Apollo 11 landing he recorded off NBC in '69. The shadows in that footage go in totally different directions than the stuff NASA puts out now. I compared it side by side with the official remastered footage from 2009 and the lighting is way off. My uncle swears the original broadcast showed the flag waving too, but NASA says there's no air on the moon. So what changed between 1969 and 1979? Did they re-film it? Has anyone else got an old tape they can check?
