What my mail route taught me about solar panel hype

While on my postal rounds, I notice solar panels aren't as common as ads make it seem. It hit me that maybe the push for them ignores how they actually perform in different areas. Is there a bigger picture we're missing about renewable energy claims?

Watch the ads and you'd think every house was a mini power plant by now. Then you look around and see maybe one per block, if that. Guess the solar revolution is still stuck in the mail.

Yeah the hype is way ahead of the real installs. Used to buy all the green energy ads hook, line, and sinker. Seeing how few houses actually have them, even in sunny spots, made me realize the big talk doesn't match the sidewalk view. The upfront cost and weird roof shapes probably kill it for most folks. Turns out putting panels on every house is a way harder sell than the ads say.

Ha, tell me about it! Those ads make it sound like slapping panels on your roof is as easy as ordering pizza. Then reality hits with a price tag that could buy a small car and a roof that looks like a geometry test gone wrong. I love how the sunny future they promise always skips my street. Guess we're all waiting for a magic sale that never comes.
