Vent: my uncle spent 20 years saying the moon landing was faked, then he handed me a telescope
So my uncle Dale has been the family moon landing guy forever, slideshows at Thanksgiving and everything, and I always just nodded along. Last weekend he dragged his old 8 inch Dobsonian out to his place near Joshua Tree and had me look at the Hadley Rille area where Apollo 15 landed. He goes quiet for a second and says "you can see the wrinkle ridges, the shadows fall exactly how the photos show." I did not expect the guy who owned three DVDs about the flag to be the one who sat with me till 1am pointing out where the lander site sits. Now I don't know if he changed his mind or just wanted someone to look through the eyepiece with him, but either way it beat every argument we ever had about it.
