Vent: I used to think the moon landing was fake because of the flag 'waving'
For years, I was sure the flag moving in the video proved it was filmed on a set. Then, about six months ago, I watched a detailed breakdown from a physics professor on YouTube. He explained how the flag's motion came from the astronauts twisting the pole into the ground, not from wind. That single fact made me re-check everything I'd heard. Now I look for the actual engineering explanation before jumping to a secret plot. Has anyone else had a specific 'proof' fall apart like that?

Classic flag thing, right? I had a buddy who swore the shadows were wrong because of studio lights. Took him to a parking lot with a flashlight and a toy astronaut at noon to show him how parallel sun rays work. His whole case fell apart in like ten minutes. Sometimes the real answer is just boring old regular science.

But what if the boring answer is just the first layer? I mean, shadows prove light direction, sure, but they don't prove WHERE that light came from. A single distant sun OR a close studio light can make parallel shadows, that's basic. The real weirdness is in the photos themselves, the way things are lit from multiple sides sometimes. Your parking lot demo is neat for one piece, but it feels like explaining a whole magic trick by just showing how the trapdoor works.
