Tried the tinfoil hat thing for real and my phone battery died twice as fast

So I was joking around with my buddy about blocking 5G signals and decided to actually make a proper tinfoil hat like the memes. Wore it for like 3 hours while watching YouTube on my phone yesterday. My battery went from 80% to 20% in that time. Normally it lasts way longer. I dunno if the hat messed with the antenna or what but it was weird. Has anyone else tried this and noticed something off?

You said "proper tinfoil hat like the memes" but wouldn't that just be blocking signal from going out and making your phone work harder to find a tower? Seems like the hat might've made things worse, not better.

@Gavin80 is missing the whole point here. The hat doesn't need to work perfectly, it just needs to work for the person wearing it. If someone is that paranoid, feeling protected matters more than actual signal blocking. That tin foil hat probably makes them feel safe, and that feeling is what theyre after, not better reception. Who cares if the phone works harder when you're convinced the government is tracking every step you take?
