The moon landing footage looked way different in 1969 than what NASA shows today
I sat down last week and watched the original broadcast from July 20 1969 on YouTube. The video they put out now has this crisp, high contrast look with perfect lighting on the lunar surface. Back then the feed was grainy, washed out, and the astronauts moved like they were in a slow motion dream. Something got totally altered between those 50 years and I do not buy that it was just a film transfer. Has anyone pulled the side by side comparisons to see what actually shifted?

Look, the original 1969 feed was literally broadcast over analog radio waves and picked up by dish antennas the size of a house. Of course it looks grainy and washed out. The modern footage we see is from the original high resolution film reels that got digitized later, not the live TV signal. I'm not saying there weren't any enhancements or color corrections done over the years, but calling it "totally altered" is a stretch. It's more like comparing a polaroid from the 70s to the same photo after you scan it and adjust the brightness on your phone.

Try watching it on an old CRT TV, the broadcast was designed for those and looks totally different.
