That one Tuesday last month when I actually managed to find proof of a theory I had been kicking around for years
So I have been digging into this local urban legend about an old mill in my town that supposedly had a hidden room underneath it. For like 3 years I have been reading old newspaper clippings at the library and cross referencing property deeds. And last Tuesday I finally found a 1917 building permit that showed a 'sub-floor storage area' that nobody had ever mentioned before. The permit was buried in a file box at the county records office in a folder labeled 'miscellaneous'. I literally stood there in that dusty room for like 10 minutes just staring at the paper. My hand was shaking a little. It felt like winning a bet against the whole world. Has anyone else ever had that moment where a random document just confirms everything you suspected?

Started digging through some old property records after reading your story and found a similar thing with an old theater downtown. Turns out the balcony I always thought was fake actually had a whole storage room behind it that's not on any modern maps. Feels like finding a secret level in a video game but in real life.

Wait, is there like a hidden door or did you have to climb through the HVAC to get in there? I love that feeling of finding something that was right there the whole time but nobody noticed. Once I found a sealed-off room in my uncle's old barn that had a bunch of his teenage band equipment from the 70s, amps and all. Your mileage may vary but I bet that storage room has some cool old theater stuff like posters or maybe even some original seats.
