That $15 dollar fan timer I installed in my bathroom saved me from a mold nightmare

I put it off for like 6 months because I thought it was dumb, but after finding black spots on the ceiling I finally caved. Anyone else have a small cheap fix that ended up preventing a way bigger headache?

A humidistat is probably the smartest $30 I ever spent.

I used to roll my eyes at stuff like that, figured it was just another gadget to waste money on. Picked up a humidistat switch for my own place and it's been a game changer, no more foggy mirrors or musty towels. Sometimes the boring fixes are the ones that actually save your hide.
